If you found your way here, you're probably carrying a question. Maybe it's about your child's learning. Maybe it's about something you've wondered about for years. Maybe a doctor or a friend pointed you our way. Whatever brought you here, we're glad you came.
Encore Psychology is a psychology practice in Bloomfield Hills, Michigan. We believe mental healthcare should feel human. That belief shapes how we run an intake session and how we write a report. Here's a short look at who we are and how we think about the work.
How We Work
We try to do things a little differently, and it shows up in small moments. We know clients by name. We notice when something feels off. We build each report around the person in front of us.
A few things guide us:
- Clarity you can use. A report should read like a roadmap, not a document you file away. Every recommendation is meant to be usable at home, at school, or at work.
- Strengths first. ADHD, autism, and learning differences are part of how brains vary. A clear diagnosis matters because it opens doors to real support. It's a start, not the whole answer.
- Care that lasts. We think of clients as lifelong clients. Life changes, and you can come back. We'll already know your history.
We also work alongside your other providers when that serves the bigger picture. We're one piece of the puzzle, and we like working that way.
Meet Dr. Brooke Colman
Encore Psychology was founded by Dr. Brooke Colman, a licensed clinical psychologist. She earned her master's degree at the University of Detroit Mercy, with a focus on child and adolescent psychology. She earned her doctorate at the Michigan School of Psychology.
Her work has spanned a lot of settings. Medical and hospital care. College campuses. Assessment-based practices. The VA. That range shows up in how she reads results and writes recommendations.
Dr. Colman leads with kindness, compassion, and real curiosity about each person. She uses the word "support" rather than "help," because we all benefit from support at different points in life. She also starts with strengths rather than gaps. The work isn't about fixing or labeling. It's about walking alongside people as they understand themselves better. You can read her own story on our about page.
What We Offer
Evaluations. Testing is the heart of the practice, and it covers the lifespan. We evaluate children from age two, teens, and adults. Common questions include ADHD, autism, and learning disorders, along with broader psychological and neuropsychological testing. We also offer online evaluations for adults 18 and older, in the states that take part in PSYPACT (the interstate telehealth compact). Online evaluations are private pay. Our evaluations page lays out the full picture for children, teens, and adults.
Therapy. We offer individual therapy for adults, in person at our Bloomfield Hills office. It's collaborative, and it moves at the pace of the person in the room. If you're wondering whether therapy might be a fit, our therapy page is a good place to start.
Fees and insurance. We're in network with Blue Cross Blue Shield, Blue Care Network commercial plans, and Priority Health. We don't accept Medicaid plans, including Blue Cross Complete and BCN Medicaid. CareCredit is available for self-pay clients. Coverage details change, so contact us to verify your plan. Our fees and insurance page has more.
Where to Find Us
Our office is at 33 Bloomfield Hills Pkwy, Suite 225, in Bloomfield Hills, Michigan. We're part of Michigan Healthcare Professionals, which makes it easier to coordinate care with other providers when that's part of the picture.
Why We Do This
Mental healthcare can feel like a lot to navigate, especially when you're already tired or worried. We want to be a steady, knowledgeable presence at whatever stage of life you're in. Maybe you're a parent looking for answers about your child. Maybe you're an adult finally asking a question that's been sitting in the back of your mind. Maybe you need an evaluation for a specific step in your life. We want it to feel less like a clinical procedure and more like a real conversation backed by real expertise.
Encore Psychology is a steppingstone on a lifelong journey of discovery. Compassionate care, clear guidance. That's the practice we work to be every single day.
