Fees and Insurance

Understanding what care costs is part of making a decision you can stand behind.

This page explains which insurance plans Encore Psychology accepts, how private pay works, and how payment method affects your report turnaround time. Contact us for current evaluation and therapy fees before scheduling.

Priority Health

  • Contact us before scheduling to verify your specific benefits
  • Coverage details vary by plan and employer contract

If you carry one of these plans, contact us before scheduling so we can verify your specific benefits. We will need your insurance member ID, policy number, the patient's full name and date of birth, and the policyholder's full name and date of birth.

Coverage details vary by plan and employer contract. We will explain what your plan is likely to cover and what, if anything, you may owe out of pocket.

Insurance does not cover learning disability evaluations (dyslexia, dysgraphia, dyscalculia). Those assessments are private pay only.

Plans we do not accept, and other options

Medicaid: Encore Psychology does not accept Medicaid.

Blue Cross Complete and other Medicaid plans: Encore Psychology does not accept Blue Cross Complete. Many people believe they have Blue Cross Blue Shield when their plan is actually Blue Cross Complete or a Blue Care Network Medicaid plan, so we verify your specific plan before scheduling. Private pay is available, and superbills are provided on request for clients seeking out-of-network reimbursement.

If your insurance is not listed above, private pay is also available. Depending on your plan, out-of-network benefits may apply. Superbills are available on request for out-of-network reimbursement. A superbill is an itemized receipt for care you paid for yourself, showing the services and diagnostic codes your insurance company needs. You submit it to your insurer, and they decide whether to reimburse you under your out-of-network benefits.

Private pay and evaluation fees

Pay directly, without insurance

Private-pay clients pay directly for services. Evaluation fees depend on the scope of testing, whether sessions are in person or via telehealth, and the type of evaluation requested. Every evaluation is customized to the client's needs, not a one-size-fits-all battery.

Contact us for current evaluation fees and a quote specific to your situation. Specialty, forensic, and accommodations evaluations may differ from standard psychological testing.

Payment structure (private pay)

We do not require full payment upfront.

  • $400 non-refundable deposit when you schedule (applied toward your total fee)
  • Testing day: 50% of the remaining balance is due
  • Feedback session: final balance due when you receive your report

Financing

Encore Psychology offers CareCredit as a financing option for self-pay (private-pay) services. Ask our reception team about CareCredit when you contact us.

Therapy fees

Dr. Colman does not publish fixed therapy session fees on the website because rates may change. Contact us for current therapy fees and availability.

Blue Cross Blue Shield (BCBS), Blue Care Network (BCN), and Priority Health cover Dr. Colman's therapy services, not just evaluations. Through our affiliation with Michigan Healthcare Professionals (MHP) we are also expanding the plans we accept, so contact us to verify coverage for your specific plan.

Report turnaround

How payment method affects your timeline

Your written report is a central deliverable of the evaluation. Turnaround time depends on how services are paid for:

Payment methodReport turnaround
Private pay (in-person)Typically 5 to 10 business days after testing is complete
Insurance6 to 8 weeks after testing is complete
Expedited report (private pay only)48 hours after testing, for an additional $800 fee

The 48-hour expedited option

If you need your written report quickly (for example, ahead of an accommodations deadline), a 48-hour report turnaround is available to private-pay clients for an additional $800, on top of the standard evaluation fee. This is separate from virtual testing's path to schedule feedback within 48 to 72 hours. To request the expedited option, let us know when you schedule or during your intake session.
