For Referring Providers
Encore Psychology partners with physicians, psychiatrists, schools, attorneys, employers, and agencies who need a thorough, well-documented psychological or neuropsychological evaluation for a patient or client. Evaluations are conducted under the doctoral-level oversight of Dr. Brooke Colman, a licensed Clinical Psychologist, and Encore is part of Michigan Healthcare Professionals (MHP).

How to Refer
To refer a patient, call our office at (248) 452-6669. Our intake team takes the referral by phone and confirms the next steps with you.
You may also email admin@encorepsychology.com with your own name, practice, and phone number to request a callback. Please do not include patient information or any health details in that email. Email is not a secure way to send protected health information.
When we speak, our intake team gathers:
- Referring provider name and practice
- Best contact (phone and email)
- Patient or client name, date of birth, and demographics
- The clinical or referral question you want answered
- Insurance information, where applicable
- Urgency and any deadline (court date, IEP meeting, credentialing or return-to-duty date, accommodations cutoff)
We no longer use a fax line.
Send your name and practice contact information and we will call you back to begin the referral. Please do not include patient information or any health details in that email.
Request a CallbackConsent to Communicate
So that we can coordinate care and share findings appropriately, we ask that the referral include the patient or client’s consent to communicate with you, or that consent be obtained at intake. We confirm the scope of what may be shared, and with whom, before releasing any report.
What to Expect
- Intake to first appointment: typically around six weeks. Tell us if your referral is time-sensitive.
- Report turnaround: 5 to 10 business days after testing for private pay; 6 to 8 weeks for insurance (BCBS, BCN, Priority Health). An expedited 48-hour written report is available to private-pay clients for an additional fee.
- Feedback session offered. The client is invited to a feedback session before the final report is issued.
- Report delivery follows the consent and authorization established at intake.
Scope of Practice
Encore Psychology is an outpatient evaluation and therapy practice. We are non-prescribing: we do not provide medication management, psychiatric prescribing, or ABA therapy, and we are glad to coordinate with the prescriber or providers already involved in your patient’s care. If you have a patient who would benefit from a service outside our scope, reach out and we are glad to point you toward an appropriate referral in southeast Michigan.

Dr. Brooke Colman, PsyD, LP
Encore’s evaluations are led by Dr. Brooke Colman, the practice’s founder and a licensed clinical psychologist, with additional clinicians joining as the practice grows.
