Therapy at Encore Psychology
An evaluation answers the question "what is happening?" Therapy answers the question "what do we do with that?" At Encore Psychology, both are part of the same commitment: supporting people as they understand themselves more fully and build on what is already there.
Dr. Brooke Colman offers individual therapy alongside her evaluation work, and Encore Psychology is actively building its therapy team. Our goal is to expand access to the same relationship-centered, strengths-first care that anchors every evaluation we conduct.

Integrative and CBT-anchored
Dr. Colman's therapeutic approach is integrative and CBT-anchored. That means the foundation is cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT): a well-researched, structured method for understanding the connections between thoughts, feelings, and behavior. Around that foundation, she draws on additional approaches as the work calls for them, tailored to the person in front of her.
She brings her full clinical background into the therapy room: experience across medical settings, college counseling, assessment-based practice, and Veterans Affairs. That range means she is comfortable with complex presentations and does not treat every person the same way.
"Kindness, compassion, and genuine understanding are at the core of my approach," Dr. Colman says. "No two people are the same."
Unhurried, collaborative, and grounded in your experience
Therapy here begins with careful listening: who you are, what has brought you to this point, and what you are hoping to build or understand. Sessions are shaped around your goals, not a fixed protocol.
Dr. Colman uses the word "support" deliberately. "I intentionally use the word support rather than help, because I believe we all benefit from having additional support at different points in our lives." That framing places the relationship on collaborative footing. The work is unhurried and grounded in your actual experience.
What Dr. Colman works on
Dr. Colman's therapy work reflects the same areas of expertise that inform her evaluation practice. Therapy at Encore Psychology is well suited to:
- Adults and teens with ADHD or autism, including those who have recently received an evaluation
- People working through the meaning and implications of a new diagnosis
- Anxiety, mood, and adjustment concerns
- Stress, identity, and life-transition questions
More clinicians coming soon
Dr. Colman is building a therapy team at Encore Psychology, with the goal of expanding capacity and bringing on additional clinicians who share the same relationship-centered values. That growth is underway, and we expect to have more to share in the coming months.
In the meantime, Dr. Colman continues to see a select number of therapy clients alongside her evaluation work.
Contact Us
Our reception team can walk you through whether Dr. Colman is currently accepting new therapy clients and what the process looks like.
Distinct and complementary
Encore Psychology offers both evaluations and therapy because diagnostic clarity and ongoing therapeutic work belong together, not in separate buildings. If you have recently completed an evaluation here, your report's recommendations can serve as a natural starting point for therapy. If you are coming to therapy without a prior evaluation, that is equally welcome.
The two services are designed to complement each other, but they are distinct offerings with separate schedules and processes. If you are unsure which makes sense for your situation, our reception team can walk you through it.
