Online Psychological Evaluations

Online psychological evaluations at Encore Psychology are a telehealth service authorized through PSYPACT (the Psychology Interjurisdictional Compact). Dr. Brooke Colman, a licensed Clinical Psychologist in Michigan, provides this service to eligible clients who are physically located in a participating state at the time of each session.

This is not a network of local offices. Encore Psychology does not maintain a physical clinic in your state. Telehealth evaluations are delivered remotely through a secure video platform. In-person appointments, when needed, are available at our Bloomfield Hills office in Michigan.

If you are in Michigan and prefer an in-person evaluation, see our Locations page rather than assuming telehealth is required.

What Is PSYPACT?

PSYPACT is an agreement among participating states that allows licensed psychologists to provide telehealth services across state lines without holding a separate license in each state. It was established to expand access to psychological care, particularly for people who live far from qualified providers or cannot easily travel to in-person appointments.

Dr. Colman's Michigan license and PSYPACT authority allow her to extend Encore Psychology's evaluation model to eligible clients in the states listed above.

What a Telehealth Evaluation Involves

A telehealth evaluation follows the same clinical standards as an in-person evaluation, with adaptations for the remote format.

The process involves:

  • An intake session conducted via secure video, where Dr. Colman gathers your full history and the questions you need the evaluation to answer
  • Remote-compatible testing sessions using validated instruments administered via secure video and, where applicable, digital or mailed assessment tools
  • A feedback session via secure video, where Dr. Colman walks through results with you in plain language
  • A comprehensive, multi-page written report, delivered electronically, with findings, diagnostic impressions, and individualized recommendations

Sessions are conducted via a secure video platform. We will share any technology requirements when you schedule.

Not every evaluation type is equally well suited to a fully remote format. Some complex presentations may be better served in person at our Bloomfield Hills office in Michigan. Reproductive and fertility psychological evaluations (donor screening, intended-parent consultation, gestational carrier evaluation) may be available via telehealth for participants in PSYPACT-participating states. During intake, Dr. Colman will work with you to determine whether telehealth is the right fit for your specific situation.

Who Is Eligible

Telehealth evaluations through PSYPACT are available to:

  • Adults (18 and older) located in a participating state at the time of each session

Virtual testing for adults ages 18 and older focused on ADHD and/or autism can be completed in one session (one-hour intake plus two to three hours of testing). Reports are typically ready within 5 to 10 business days. With the expedited option, results can be ready within 48 to 72 hours to schedule feedback. Other evaluation types may require a different format or in-person testing.

Insurance and Fees

Telehealth evaluations are private pay only. We do not bill insurance for telehealth, because coverage rules differ in every state.

Private pay is available for all telehealth evaluations. Contact us for current telehealth evaluation fees. CareCredit financing is available on request for private-pay services. We do not provide superbills for telehealth evaluations.

Payment methodReport turnaround
Private pay5 to 10 business days after testing
Expedited (private pay only)48 hours after testing, for an additional fee

See Fees and Insurance for payment structure, financing options, and full insurance details.

Good Faith Estimates

Because telehealth evaluations are private pay, you have the right under the federal No Surprises Act to receive a written Good Faith Estimate of what your evaluation will cost before it begins. We provide one on request, and we would rather you have it than not. See our Good Faith Estimate page for details.

Encore Psychology and Michigan Healthcare Professionals (MHP)

Encore Psychology is part of Michigan Healthcare Professionals (MHP), a larger affiliated physician group. Our physical offices are in Michigan only. Telehealth extends Dr. Colman's evaluation services to participating states; it does not create a local office or in-person clinic in your state.
